This guide covers how to navigate and manage equipment within your buildings in Visitt.
Accessing the Equipment Tab
Navigate to Buildings using the sidebar under the Property section.
Select the relevant building.
Click the Equipment tab at the top of the building page (alongside Overview, Floors, and Spaces).
From the Equipment tab you can view all equipment in that building along with their location, condition, and lifecycle details. Use the Columns button to customize which fields are displayed, and the Export button to download the list.
Filtering Equipment
Use the filter options at the top of the Equipment tab to narrow your view:
Floor — filter by a specific floor to see only equipment assigned to that level
Type — filter by equipment type (e.g. Chiller, Elevator, Boiler)
Add filter — add additional filters for more specific searches
Equipment Overview
Click on any piece of equipment in the list to open its detail page. Here you can view:
All closed inspections and work orders linked to that equipment
Equipment details including QR Code, Type, Location, Overall asset condition, Estimated useful life, and more
Creating New Equipment
From the Equipment tab, click the green Create equipment button at the top right.
Enter the equipment Name (required).
Select the Type and Location (floor or space).
Add any relevant Notes.
Click Show advance details to add additional fields:
Serial Number
QR Code
Model
Manufacturer
Overall asset condition — rate the equipment as Good, Fair, Poor, or Unknown
Estimated useful life (Years)
Installation date
Toggle Create another if you want to be returned to the form automatically after saving, to add more equipment.
Click Create equipment to save.
💡 You can add custom equipment types directly while creating or updating equipment. If you enter a type that doesn't already exist, you'll see an option to add it as a new type. Once added, it will be available across all properties in your portfolio.
Importing Equipment
To bulk-upload equipment, click the Import equipment button at the top right of the Equipment tab. Download the CSV template, fill it in with your equipment data, and re-upload to import all records at once.
Editing Equipment
Open any piece of equipment to access its detail page. From here you can update equipment information in two ways:
Edit details directly — the Equipment Details panel on the right side of the screen allows you to update fields inline including Location, Type, Notes, Serial Number, QR Code, Model, and more. Simply click any field to edit it.
Use the actions menu — click the ⋯ (three dots) button next to the equipment name at the top of the page to access additional options:
Rename — update the equipment name
Move to location — reassign the equipment to a different floor or space
Convert to space — convert this equipment record into a space
Delete — permanently remove the equipment record
Equipment Files
Each equipment record has an Equipment Files section where you can attach relevant documents such as warranties, instructions, inspection forms, and maintenance records. Click the + button to upload a file directly to the equipment record.
