How to Use Broadcasts

Learn how to create, send, and manage Broadcast messages to communicate with tenants and contacts.

Written by Zach Kahan

The Broadcasts feature allows you to send announcements, updates, and other important communications to multiple recipients at once. Messages can be delivered through Email, SMS, Push Notifications, and the Visitt+ app, helping ensure your audience receives important information quickly and efficiently.

📌 Access to Broadcasts: The Broadcasts feature must be enabled for your property. Depending on your organization's configuration, Broadcasts may only be available to Account Admins, Property Admins, or users who have been granted Broadcast permissions.

Common Uses for Broadcasts

  • Building announcements and maintenance notices

  • Weather or emergency communications

  • Tenant events and community updates

  • Policy changes or reminders

  • Inviting contacts to join Visitt+

Navigate to Broadcasts

From the sidebar, go to Tenant Experience and select Broadcasts. On this page you can review past broadcasts, including the message title, content, recipients, and other relevant information.

Sending a Broadcast

Click Send a Broadcast in the upper-right corner of the page. The broadcast composer will open, allowing you to select your audience, choose delivery channels, and write your message.

  1. Select your audience. Choose recipients by Building, Tenant, Contact, or a saved Broadcast Group. A live recipient count will display as you make your selections. You can save your selection as a new Broadcast Group for future use.

  2. Choose notification channels. Select one or more delivery methods: Email, SMS, and/or Push Notification. At least one channel is required.

    1. Delivery methods may vary based on each recipient's notification preferences and available contact information.

  3. Write your message. Enter a Subject and Message Body using the rich text editor. You can attach files or images, use AI-powered message enhancement if available, or select an existing Template to auto-populate the message.

  4. Configure branding (optional). Apply a saved branding preset, upload custom header or footer images, or choose None. Branding settings are managed under Settings → Account → Tenant App → Branding.

  5. Set sender information. Enter the From Name and select the notification language. If a Reply-To Email is configured, recipients can reply directly to the broadcast.

  6. Preview your message. Use the live preview to see how the message will appear to recipients across Email, Push Notification, and App views before sending.

  7. Save as a template (optional). If you'd like to reuse this message in future broadcasts, save it as a template.

  8. Send the broadcast. Click Send Now to deliver the message to all selected recipients through the chosen channels.

Viewing Broadcast Results

After a Broadcast has been sent, you can open it from the Broadcasts page to review delivery details and recipient activity.

Depending on your configuration, available statistics may include:

  • Total recipients

  • Delivery status

  • Seen status

  • Pending deliveries

  • Failed deliveries

This helps you confirm whether your message successfully reached its intended audience.

Broadcast Groups

Broadcast Groups allow you to save frequently used recipient lists for future communications. Once created, a group can be selected when composing a Broadcast, eliminating the need to manually choose the same recipients each time.

Accessing Broadcast Groups

  1. Click Broadcast Groups from the Broadcasts page.

  2. From here you can view existing groups or create new ones.

Creating a Broadcast Group

  1. Click Add New Group.

  2. Enter a name for your group.

  3. Select recipients by Building, Contact, or Tenant.

  4. Review the selected participants and save the group.

Using a Broadcast Group

Once created, your Broadcast Group will be available in the audience selector when composing any future broadcast. Select the group instead of adding recipients individually.
