What are work order subscribers
Work order subscribers define who gets notified about updates on a work order. Unlike general notifications tied only to assignments or mentions, this model gives a clear control over who stays informed throughout the lifecycle of a work order.
Subscribers receive push notifications for key events such as new messages, status changes, due date updates, and overdue indicators.
How users become subscribers
Users can become subscribers in several ways:
Assigned users
Users assigned to the work order are automatically subscribed. They remain subscribers as long as they are assignees.Work order creator
The user who created the work order is automatically subscribed.Participation
When a user writes a chat update, is mentioned in chat, or receives a notification via escalation or automation rules, they are added as subscribers.Manual subscription
Any user can manually subscribe themselves to a work order to stay informed.
Managing subscription
Unsubscribing
Users can unsubscribe themselves at any time. If you are assigned, you must first be removed as an assignee before you can unsubscribe.Permissions
Team members cannot manually add or remove other users as subscribers. They can only manage their own subscription.
Note:
Being a subscriber does not affect work order permissions or visibility beyond notifications
Subscriber lists can be managed directly from the work order details view
What subscribers get notified about
Subscribers receive notifications for:
New chat messages
Status updates
Due date changes
Overdue work order alerts
Other work order updates
Notifications help ensure the right people stay informed about work that matters to them.
💡 Use subscribers to tailor who gets notified on a work order.
If you care about the updates on a specific work order, subscribe to stay informed. If you don’t need updates, you can unsubscribe to reduce noise.
