In Visitt, you have two ways to remove a user's access — deactivating their account entirely, or removing them from a specific property. This article explains both options and when to use each.
💡 Note: These actions are available to Admins only.
1. Start Here
Navigate to the Settings Page → Users tab.
Select a user by clicking their name.
In their profile page, scroll to the bottom. You'll find two sections: "Assigned properties" and "User access control."
2. Choose the Action You Need
A. Deactivate a User (under "User access control")
Use this when a user is leaving entirely and should no longer have access to the account.
The user will no longer be able to log in.
None of their data is deleted — it remains accessible in reports and history.
A confirmation prompt will appear before deactivation is finalised.
⚠️ Important: Deactivation currently removes the user from their assigned responsibilities (work orders, inspections, automations) but does not offer the option to reassign them to another user. If you need to transfer responsibilities first, use the Remove from Property flow below before deactivating.
💡 Tip: If a user is assigned to multiple properties and you want to remove their access everywhere at once, Deactivate is the faster option — it removes access across all properties in one step.
B. Remove a User from a Property (under "Assigned properties")
Use this when a user is moving roles or leaving a specific property, but may still need access elsewhere.
Click "Unassign from property."
Select the property you want to remove them from.
A dialog will appear showing their current responsibilities (such as open work orders and inspections).
Choose one of the following:
Reassign responsibilities — select another existing user at that property. All responsibilities (inspections, work orders, etc.) will transfer to the new user going forward.
Remove without reassigning — the user is removed with no transfer of responsibilities.
Click Submit to confirm.
💡 Note: If the user is assigned to multiple properties, you'll need to repeat this process for each property individually.
